Considering the Peace Accord and its implementation within the longer (and continuing) history of racial- and ethnic-based structural discrimination, epistemic violence, and resistance opens opportunities for examining the concepts of “peace,” “justice,” and “reparation,” and sets the scene for a differential response to post-conflict which takes a greater variety of experiences into account. This Spotlight outlines the process of gaining ethnic rights and the emergence of “ethnic citizenship” in Colombia, the inclusion of ethnic rights in the Peace Accord, and the implications not only for ethnic peoples, but for Colombian society as a whole.spa
