Abstract

On August 6th, a team of representatives from the United Nations, Colombian National Police, and the FARC-EP were ambushed. On August 3rd, the Selection Committee for the Special Jurisdiction for Peace announced that 2,328 individuals had applied for positions within the JEP transitional justice mechanism. Over the long weekend – August 5-7 – the United Nations worked to extract FARC weapons caches in three departments throughout the country.
